Discussion Questions based on novel:
1)Why do you think author Jay Asher chose Hannah as the character who will commit suicide?
2)Other than her decision to commit suicide, what did you learn about Hannah?
3)If she was someone you knew in real life, would you think she had it in her to take her own life?

5)Have you had a life changing realization after reading about the issues in this book? If so, explain.

7) Why do you think author, Jay Asher, wrote the novel in the perspectives of two co-narrators; Hannah and Clay?

1. I think that the auther Jay Asher chose Hannah as the character who will commit suicide is because she experienced a lot of negative events that probably led her to feeling down about herself. She had many reasons to commit suicide because she was also involved in rumours that she probably didn't like and got involved with people that weren't great for her. But I mostly think its because Jay Asher planned her life so well that it really fit the character for someone to commit suicide.

10. The tape recordings Hannah created portrayed her struggles and emotions which let other people know what she has gone through and what led her to commit suicide. Its also shows why you should never give up life because you only have one life and should live life to the fullest and dont let others bring you down. Especially since your life is as important as others.
